79-03 Statin Reduction Study

NIS Labs is looking for male and female volunteers between the ages of 35 and 75 to participate in a clinical trial. The clinical study evaluates whether statin medication can successfully be reduced by consuming a tea extract.

Potential study volunteers must have a BMI between 25 and 35. You can calculate your BMI here: BMI Calculator. Potential volunteers must currently be taking statin medication and must have done so for the past three months.

The study requires participants to consume either a tea extract or placebo daily for 20 weeks. At study start and at the end of the 20 week study, participants will come to NIS Labs to complete a health questionnaire, record their weight and blood pressure, provide a blood sample, and receive a DEXA scan (similar to scans done to evaluate bone density). Volunteers will also visit the lab at weeks 4, 8, 12 and 16 to complete questionnaires and provide a blood sample.
